A contrary position would make it impossible to solve any practical problems. Nevertheless, I would caution that extending the contention too board might risk undermining those objectives.
First of all, no one can deny the fact that people have much more inclination to learning about the practical aspects toward one issue today than they used to do. In business realm, with the introduction of market economy, more and more manufactures realize that pursuing the maximum production at lowest lost should serve as the primary goal. In order to fulfill the engagement, a large amount of efforts has been introduced, such as promoting the productivity of the factory, decreasing the wage of the workers, expanding the working hour; even some times betray their credits to obtain more interest. The progressively emphasizing on the practical rewards, though posing certain amount of detrimental effects in today’s burgeoning world, bring a large contribution to the improvement of business fields and results in a plentiful supply of goods in the market.
The pragmatic perspective also has come to pervade every aspect of people’s lives. For one thing, the developments of modern technology make it possible for people to enjoy all sorts of convenience in their dwelling. This trend not only means there are much more commodities exited in the market place for human beings to select and consume but also enhancing people’s ambition. For example, it is impossible for modern people to contend with only survive in the world but to pursue the promotion in the employment and earn as much money as possible in their business. Furthermore, the concept of the everyday facility also has been expanded in people’s mind. Big apartments, cars, digital camera and so many implements that have hardly imagined by our ancestors tend to serve as the necessary products in daily life.
Conceding that the practical aspects, as well as the idealistic collaborate with one another to benefit to the entire society, I nevertheless disagree that the former always superior to the latter for several reasons. In the first place, unduly emphasizing the pragmatic aspects of one issue would make modern people loss something of the great value. The capabilities of imagination and assuming the ideal position are serving as one of the significant discrimination between human race and beasts, because the modern human world has been build above the innovative and creative assumptions of our ancestors. For example, if Galileo have inability to design the experiment and generalizing the results of it in an ideal condition he might never discover the famous law of free fall, and it is also impossible for modern engineer to invent the plane let along the satellite and other advanced space vehicles. Furthermore, every glorious culture in the world also stem from the imaginations of its ancestors. In this respect, though, ostensibly, the practical efforts can gaining the short-term rewards, the imagination and innovation is the fundamental impetus of human evolution and also contributes to the long term thriving of the world.
In the second hand, the idealistic can provide people with the opportunity to construct a deliberate plan and use it as the institution in the future implement of the projects. In most of the cases, it is necessary to make an assessment which involves the ideal results and the potential obstacle in the process before the engagement, and only in this way, can ensure such kind of the efforts are valuable and can brings certain amount of profits and rewards in both short term and long periods. In addition, the idealistic can also eliminate the possibility of the fulfillment to fall into an endangered situation.

As discussed above, the pragmatic elements contribute to the short-term benefit and can also reap a much rich reward as soon as possible. While the idealistic view always served as the guide and also is a necessary element in the implement of the projects.
