various: multiplicity/variety of choices 有各种各样的意思，多种选择很多种类。
different： used when showing that the choices are not the same as something else 表示种类或选择与其他的不一样
various和different在某些情况下不能混用
如：a different way of doing this (用不同的方法做这件事）
可是你不能说 a various way of doing this. 这样的用法就是错的
如果要用various， 一般会说there are various ways of doing this. 有很多不同的（or各种各样的）方法来做这件事
或者 there are many different ways of doing this. 与上面的意思相同
