一、词义辨析不一样

1、so adv. 因此，所以

〔辨析〕最普通用词，一般用于比较随便的场合，尤用于口语。

〔例证〕She's not feeling well, so she wants to stay in bed.

2、thus adv. [正式]因此，从而

〔辨析〕通常用于引出某一推断性的结论，与前述内容有因果关系，多用于书面语中。

二、词义广泛性不一样

三、词语用法不一样

1、so用作副词时常用于形容词或其他副词之前，用于表示程度，作“这么，那么”解；so作“当然”解时，后接there或代词主语,然后再接be, have, do或will, can, should等；so也可用于代替已经陈述的事物，尤用在接that...的动词之后。

2、thus的基本意思是“如此,这样，以此方式”。thus也可作“其结果是，因此，于是”解。thus在句中用作状语，常修饰整个句子，可用在句首、句中或句末，也可用在系动词或助动词的后面。

而thus只有副词词意思是“因而, 从而, 这样, 如此”
