This paper researches and analyzes the techniques, methods and tools of the heterogeneous relational database migration, and proposes to design a heterogeneous relational database migration software making use of Delphi as IDE and the two classic relational databases SQL Server and Oracle as reference. This paper adopts the ADOConnecton widget to connect the databases of both sides firstly, and then uses ADOQuery widget to collect the modes and data information of the relational databases and translates them into standard SQL and PL/SQL blended statement, and finally executes in the Target relational database in order to realize the effect of migration.

After the research and analysis of the techniques,methods and tools of heterogeneous relational database migration ,this article advised to use the Delphi as programing environment，two typical relational database--SQL Server and Oracle-- as references，and designed a software applied to heterogeneous relational database migration.First,this article connected both the databases by the ADOConnection widget,then extracted the source relational database mode and data information by the ADOQuery widget and transformed it into standard sentences that mixed by SQLand PL/SQL and finally executed them in the target relational data base to achieve the effect of transformation.
