泡沫灭火系统的灭火机理是隔氧窒息作用、辐射热隔阻作用、吸热冷却作用。
泡沫灭火系统主要用于扑灭非水溶性可燃液体及一般固体火灾。
其灭火原理是泡沫灭火剂的水溶液通过化学、物理作用,充填大量气体(CQ、空气)后形成无数小气泡,覆盖在燃烧物表面,使燃烧物与空气隔绝,阻断火焰的热辐射,从而形成灭火能力。同时泡沫在灭火过程中析出液体,可使燃烧物冷却。受热产生的水蒸气还可降低燃烧物附近的氧气浓度,也能起到较好的灭火效果。
